I was recently commissioned to photograph Pennethorne's, a café/bar in the newly-refurbished – and rather palatial – surroundings of London's Somerset House New Wing. It is named after the New Wing's Victorian architect Sir James Pennethorne.
The 85-cover venue was designed by SHH taking inspiration from Pennethorne's Grand Tour travels to France and Italy.
Hard to believe that not long ago the building was home to that much-loved institution, the Inland Revenue.
